RedGreenWay's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: In 2006 Gunns made $87 million profit, while Forestry Tasmania made almost none. We want sustainability and sustainable jobs, ENVIRONMENTAL and JOB SECURITY, not easy profits for unethical corporations who contribute nothing to the community.

true blue's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: It's about community. we don't want it. don't do it to us. don't poison the water, ruin our air and wreck the next generations future. please. the decision is actually yours. one day you can talk with your kids about the strength you had to help our wonderful part of the world stay wonderful. This mill won't make tassie better. you and i all know it. oh, and work out how to send lennon and gay to jail.
Kerry Australiana's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: I have occasionally in the past, written to my local paper regarding community injustices, but generally I am not one for joining rallies and chanting. However I feel very strongly that our Governments are failing us badly in this area of environmental protection. We intend to increase the financial support my husband and I give to organisations which are fighting for our future, such as The Wilderness Society. We are all living on the same 'postage stamp' - why can't everyone see that each little piece they fail to protect cuts the ground out from under us. It's not just 'greenies' who are breathing in the oxygen and require sustenance. Where are these uncaring, corporately greedy capitalists going to manufacture their oxygen and food from, when they've ransacked our earth of its goodness? I am disgusted with federal and state governments of the last few years, who continually compromise our natural assets - there are times when a Government needs to simply say NO to industries which threaten our natural habitats, our forests and our waterways; show a bit of gumption, close the bank books and take a look at what is REALLY important our there! What is the matter with the Tasmanian and Federal Governments that they are prepared to sell their own citizens down the river, and to a greedy, immoral organisation like Gunns. I would NEVER invest in anything which has the Gunns name attached to it, and amongst my friends here on the mainland, there is general agreement that Gunns is a disreputable company. Fancy sueing good people for speaking out against something which will clearly impact their health and their environment in a negative way. How dare Gunns try to influence public opinion by using their money to silence valid criticism, and to prevent people exercising their right to HAVE an opinion. It makes me sick. They have done themselves untold damage statewide, nationally and even internationally, by fighting against common sense. If 'money can't buy you love' it certainly won't be able to buy you back a healthy globe once its mortally wounded - and Gunns are hell bent on taking the path to whole-sale death of our earth and its creatures. Your lives depend on it as much as mine. I'm waiting for a political party to have the guts to make a stand against corporate greed - for all our sakes.
Mazzy Star's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Have we not evolved at all? A pulp mill in the Tamar Valley is an archaic and unprogressive notion. Another to add to that jigsaw of environmental (and in turn our own) demise. Ignorance is no longer our luxury, or should I say the luxury of government and big business. You can be sure that this issue is being monitored by many Australians.
Curly1's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: This pulp mill will be a disaster for the environment not just in the Tamar Valley but for the beautiful forests of Tasmania. Why are they continuing to turn these old growth forests into woodchips. We need these forests to offset carbon emissions now more than ever.We don't need this pulp mill, invest in tourism please. I will not support any bank or organisation that supports this project.
Mike O'Connor's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: My partner currently banks with ANZ. If ANZ does decide to finance the pulp mill, I will strongly suggest to him that he close his account.

Please stay away from this disaster-in-waiting.
Groomy's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: I moved to the tamar valley 10 years ago for my asthmatic daughters health. Both my children want to remain in Tassie, neither want a job in a pulp mill - so who is it for?
Anonymous's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: my family and I cannot sit back and allow the setruction of our land without a fight. We cannot believe this is happening to our home and will do what we can to stop this mill. So should Gunns. Who really runs this state? Minister Garrett, it is with deep sorrow that we moune the loss of a fellow conservationist who we believe had integrity. How do you sleep at night?? Answer to out 5 year old daughter.
Marion's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: We should be planting trees not pulping. Don't ruin Tasmania, Australia, Planet Earth by putting greed and selfishness above the greater good of the community and the environment.
Fratsy's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Every sensible person knows this mill to be pure folly from any angle it is viewed. Banks and governments who support it have absolutely no scruples. Shame on you and shame especially on Peter Garrett. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL & ESPECIALLY OUR YOUNG FOR PROTESTING!
Anonymous's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: gunns are and have always been corrupt and money driven.i worked in tassie for 7 months and witnessed them ripping down old growth not only surrounding national parks but actually in them.if they are not stopped soon there will be nothing left to protect.they hav no interest in the future of tassie just the dollars they accumulate now.wake up anz, perpetual and especially you mr garret .you of all people know 'gunns' and what pulp mills do to a clean environment.
Muddy's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: How can Peter garret sleep while our forrests are burning? We all know the planet is in trouble,it needs those forrests, and still this happens. Our children have no future, saddly.
Mary m3's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: I'm only young yet the enviroment of the world is being desroyed so much that it makes me feel dizzy..what will be left in fifty years time? We are so very lucky in Tasmania to be blessed with such a beautiful enviroment that it is beyond stupidity as to why this needs to be destroyed for short term "gain" by greedy people, who have no idea how scary it is to know that the world could be no place worth living in, in future years because of the decisions people are making now. How can the pulp mill even be suggested, the destruction of everything precious on our home land isn't worth a few jobs! And why isn't our Minister for the Enviroment doing anything to stop it? He is a disgrace and does not deserve his title! Grow a back bone and stand up for what is right for our Earth!
