Audrey G's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: With the urgent need for action to reduce the devastating effects that climate change could have, public awarness of the importance of protecting our ecosystems and biodiversity is growing. In consideration of the need to protect what is left of our natural environment, especially our ancient forests, which are important carbon banks, it would be a mistake and a risk to have any financial dealings with a company that destroys our fragile ecosystems.
Anonymous's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Why must our future be destroyed by greed.

fran1's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: How can we be a climate change supporting government and not ask Gunns to withdraw their application to build this mill? Add "Stop the Gunn's Mill " to joining Kyoto and "Stop the Whales" effort Prime Minister Rudd and Minister Garrett, please for all our sakes.
Alba's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: A company such as Gunns which destroy the natural environment by using napalm should not be supported by any bank. I would never invest in any institution that would even consider such a venture.
FXdreaming's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: a few dollars more. The mill is not sustainable if logging old groth forrests is the only way.
Peace's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Please spare some thought for future generations and for the future of our little planet.
Please try not to see everything as only having a monetary value.
lover of all life's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Dear Minister Garrett,
The environmental impacts of Gunns' pulp mill and the the toxic effluent which can never be safely dispersed will do untold damage to the surrounding beautiful pristine areas. Now is the time to put a stop this pulp mill.
Catherine1's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Tasmania's fine old-growth forests are unique - yet they are being cut down, burnt, poisonned and totally destroyed by greedy, intransigent and stupid governments and by greedy business all keen to make a cheap and quick buck from something they never grew or tended in the first place.
Once gone these forests are gone forever.
Can you really countenance that kind of vandalism of our remaining precious forests?
Gunn's proposed pulp mill will hasten the demise of these magificent old forests. Logging will nearly double in order to both feed the pulp mill AND keep up chip exports.
Four hundred year old trees simply chipped and pulped? Forest which is thousands of years old laid waste for woodchip exports?
It's a crying shame that this destruction of the natural world should be allowed. Its disgraceful that it should also be supported through subsidies so that Gunns Ltd. can make over 35% clear profit from the destruction of a unique part of the world.
Please stop this madness now.
KJP's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill:
Please, Tasmania's forests are unique and no dollar amount should be placed on them. Gunn's behaviour towards those against this insane proposal has been deplorable. Gunns needs to be stopped and you need to be part of this process for the sake of your integrity as a business and the sake of the fragile and precious environment.
Planetcarer's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: I have been opposing this pulp mill, & especially in this location for some time.Pleased as I am at the change of government & the greater commitment to slowing climate change, signing of the Kyoto Protocol etc, I wold view with dismay, the perpetuation of commitment to allowing Gunns to proceed!
Martin15's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: The go-ahead for the pulp mill is the consequence of a ruthless unethical business-sense which tries to get away with whatever it can in order to get ahead. Wake up! it's worse than you think!
Anonymous's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: You must stop this pulp mill, it is ridiculous the fact that it is even being considered, we are a developed country and have far cleen green options for this mill not the dangerous polluter and destuctor of this one.
have a heart and a conscience.
Margaret Waddington's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: We closed our ANZ account solely because we did not want to be associated with a banking organisation that may fund this environmental vandalism.
redgeorge's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: The Collins English Dictionary description of fake = to conceal the defects of, to pass it off as genuine. It is taken from the noun meaning a fraud. Herein lies the truth of deception that has now been vetted by federal government refusal to undertake injunction on behalf of its people to redress a former government decision to not stop the pulp mill on the pretense of no legal jurisdiction. The Commonwealth of Australia has had such jurisdiction invested upon it by the fact of Federation and indeed has utilised this same power of jurisdiction many times since. I therefore accuse all involved with this continuing perpetration of a lie as being fakers. No one will deny value adding to forestry but to say that Gunns proposal is worlds best is a fallacy and until the concept and its lies forwarded as facts are rectified then no Minister can call himself as representative of an environment portfolio, nor can a financial institution providing the capital backing for such a project claim to represent the interests of its customers, let alone its shareholders.
ellie3's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: In these days of global warming, contributing to the destruction on the forests, "the lungs of the earth", which soak up CO2 is pure folly.
Why not put all this investment into promoting recycling and other ways to reduce paper use and waste, instead of this destructive nonsense.
Peter Garrett, Australians voted you party in in good faith to get rid of the reactionary, environmentally inept Howard government. Do not let us down.

Regards
SMc

I can't imagine what this will do to its relatively pristine condition. People have GOT to stop putting the earth last - it nurtures snd provides for us all we need - food, water, shelter.
