Do something good
A Carer's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: It is time to seriously take count of our enviroment and stop the greed of a few for the long time benefit of our planet.
dubs's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: This is totally irresponsible. Why is ANZ financing this destruction?
Lighthouse's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: This pulp mill is utter madness. It appears that government are only interested in major industry issues & are not looking at too many options to fix current problems like water & power. Minister Garrett, if you read this, how about every household in Australia with a land holding greater than 600 sqm had to put a water tank in & a matching tax deduction. Also, every factory in Australia should be fitted with Solar panels to hook back into the energy grid. Just think about that. I think the power of the people in Tasmania is being underestimated here. They stopped the damming of the Franklin. I fail to see the Tasmanian people will allow this raping & pillaging of the Tamar Valley to go ahead. Time to act now.
flyman1's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Should your banks join the corrupt Lennon-Gunns pulp mill by approving finance, I will close all my accounts with ANZ and move to Westpac. The destruction of Tasmanias forests and the poluting and poisoning of our rivers and streams is vandalism fed by greed
Jennifer2's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: You people are missing a HUGE market in ethical investments, and will be held responsible for your lack of foresight.
Michael6's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: The earth is in such a terrible state as it is, do you really want to ruin the one thing that could help get us out of the mess we have created? Unfortunately, this decision is up to you Geoff, and i trust that you will decide against the pulp mill, and not have the death of thousands apon thousands of irriplaceable amazing trees, animals and wildlife on your head. please listen to us and DO NOT go ahead! thank you in advance.
Qasabian's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Mankind has never faced a disaster of the scale of global warming. By clearing forests and adding to green-house emmissions, the pulp mill will exacerbate this problem. It must be stopped.
Alex33's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Corporations are made of share holders- if people want to invest- invest in a future that is worth living in, rather than just in money. Now, more than ever, wild places and the diversity of life on Earth are becoming more valuable. Tasmania is on a threshold- we can opt for a sustainable future, or be damned forever in history for our selfish ways. Choose a path with a heart.
Anonymous's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Please invest in projects that guarantee the wellbeing of the environment, otherwise it's just not worth it.
WV13's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Community action won against great odds at Wesley Vale, we must do the same for the Tamar Valley
Menkit's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: It's time to protect our precious country and the environment or we won't have a future. Time to start valuing the earth instead of trashing it for the sake of short-term financial gain.
melmoth's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: To remove forests so breathtaking, so beautiful, so nourishing, and so irreplaceable is abominable. When I think about this loss and the way in which the forests are so brutally extinguished I cannot sleep, I cannot rest and I can find happiness in no single thing. What I have learnt from this whole sad pulp mill affair is that unlike what I was told as a child the righteous do not ulitmately triumph, the truth does not eventually come out and justice is not inevitably dispensed. What we see happening up there on the Tamar is pure evil thriving with the support of everyday people, politicians at all levels of government and financiers. Evil is a strong word but one, I think, particularly apt to describe the situation which obtains. This is something actually true to my childhood thinking and teaching - that the world can be seen in black and white. Good and bad have never seemed so clear.
tara11's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: The timber demand of the proposed pulp mill, and the pollution of Bass Strait are both extreme. We all need to be protecting our environment, not this foot to the floor destruction.
Angry of Mayfair's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: This is obscene! Yet again we are willing to rape a pristine ecosystem to satisfy some faceless shareholders. For shame!!!
Tasman's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: I have eight ANZ accounts including trusts loans and credit cards, and will have no hesitation in closing them all should ANZ put money before environment again.
Noa's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: PLEASE DON"T be partner to the destruction of our beautiful Island that God gave us to be custodians over.
george.e.bean's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Big Bu$ine$$ has a responsibility to the people of the entire world - GUNNS only has its eyes on the prize = individual profits at the expense of the world environment -
please stop funding the destruction of us all! -
my blood is on your hands!!
n's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Please reconsider funding this venture. There are more ethical options that can be pursued.
