Zims Hobart's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: This project should not be financed by the ANZ bank.If the proposed mill was plantation based and closed loop and built near Hampshire (near Burnie), there would hardly any argument. But with what we are learning about our changing climate, and the important role that our native forests play in storing CO2, then the proposed mill is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! I ask the ANZ to be a leading corporate citizen and show some leadership in relation to humanities dire situation, and decline to finance this project.
Trojan1's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: There is no commercial nor legitimate reason to decimate the forests of Tasmania. Least of all the pristine areas in the Wilderness. The incoming Federal Government MUST have the courage to oppose this wanton destruction.
GunsKillTrees's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: I will not bank with ANZ in the future, nor invest with Perpetual, if they support the proposed mill. I have a SMFS and therefore total control where it gets invested. I will not support this vandalism! Trees not pulp!
Judith King's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: We are astonished that any organisation can think to support this polluting monstrosity in a time of great climate change threat. Please do the right thing and don't fund this mill.
Anonymous's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: take the step .... enviromental responesibility ... for our children ... thank you....
old vintage's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: I am utterly shocked to find out that Perpetual is the largest shareholder in Gunns. Had I been aware of this when I opened my super annuation account with Perpetual I would have chosen Colonial First instead. I sincerely hope that Perpetual will use their position as a major shareholder to discourage Gunns from continuing with the controversial Pulp Mill project in Tasmania in keeping with the strong world wide and local community views.
Glyn's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: We have had money invested with Perpetual for 20 years. I am disappointed and will have to consider other options if this Pulp Mill goes ahead.
Pamela's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: I had an account with ANZ and I'm glad I closed it. I will never bank with them or use Perpetual as long as they continue to support this environmental destruction.
Thomas1's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: To whom it may concern,
My name is Thomas Cram and I am currently studying an Arts Degree at Wollongong University and I have studied a fair amount of politics and let me tell you that the Pulp Mill is a poor political and economic decision. Granted in the short term there is substantial profit...but in the long term there is little financial gain from non-renewable forestry practices, and not sustainable economic management. If we move to a carbon trading regime under either the Howard or Rudd government next year this will cost the county a lot in the future. Please do not open the Pulp Mill because you will lose any business from me if you continue with this endeavour.
Anonymous's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: I am writing to ask you not to go ahead with the Tamar Vally Pulp Mill. The Earth needs forests to breathe. I have lived in South East Asia for many years and seen the devastation caused by logging. This is a tragedy that the world will come to regret most profoundly. Please don't add to it in Tasmania
Roma1's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: environment first ; always.
Devi's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: To those in a position to make a difference: Please assist in steering humanity towards ultimate sustainability in health and - survival. Let us not ruin a pristine environment that we are already needing to preserve from logging in order to provide for future generations. 'Pulpmill in pristine area will mean more logging in order to feed pulpmill, will it not?!'
LRadin's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: This mill will not measure up to the requirements of sustainable timber harvesting nor adequate environmental protection for the waterways. A poor decision Mr Turnbull. ANZ bank will be another financial institution we will never deal with!
mary6's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: all over the world human beings are considered to be able to learn from mistakes. It's your chance to proof us right and show that we've learned from earlier mistakes done to old grown forest elsewhere on this planet. Stop this insane project and help to protect our future and wilderness!
JM1's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: Please consider the effects of your actions, as well as the effects of the actions you fail to take.
Tina Baker's Pledge to ANZ, Perpetual and Minister Turnbull about the pulp mill: It is imperative to our children that financial gain stops outweighing the state of our environment. Please do not support this pulp mill. Our children only have one Earth. We belong to it. It does not belong to us. Thankyou.
